DM: I know you don't want to sext, but it's just hypothetical!
This one actually hurt a little at the time, because we were talking kind of normally (or so I thought, at the time) and he couldn't resist trying to push my boundaries anyway. It really hurts my feelings when someone makes me think that they just want to talk about Resident Evil, or how much they appreciate my art, and then I find out that they actually want to get off on me. It makes me think they didn't really like it at all, but rather I'm just a woman that happens to be in close proximity to porn and that's what they like.
Actually, looking back on this conversation now (8 months later) it is pretty clear to me that this conversation was always going to head this way, regardless of my clear boundaries.
Back when I first started really trying to push my hentai art on social media, I had a lot of misconceptions about men on the internet. I really thought I could just ignore questions I didn't want to answer / redirect the conversation as opposed to being confrontational in order to save them embarrassment, and they'd be respectful.
And sometimes that's true. I don't mind hearing about other people's fantasies (as long as they're not trying to tell me that I'm in them), so sometimes saying, "well what are you into?" will get them to stop interviewing me about my personal sexual preferences.
But in retrospect, he kept trying to tie things back to me, personally, instead of just my artwork. He opened with an assumption in the first place--he didn't even ask, he just assumed my OC was a self-insert. He also kind of just started rattling on about his fantasies, like sissification, which isn't something I'm into drawing at all, and then suggesting that I should make new art to satisfy his tastes specifically.
None of these things on their own are clear indicators of a disrespectful person, could just mean they're a little awkward or annoying, but taken together, they're some pretty compelling red flags. A lot of these guys literally have 0 interest in me as a person or even in my talents (at least I think I'm talented! uwu) but only want to use me.
All-in-all, this wasn't too bad. He wasn't violent. I stopped responding and he clearly realized he messed up because he let me be. It just really bothers me that he he admittedly knew I wasn't interested in that kind of conversation, but he tried to pursue it anyway.
