Traveling with a live experiment, new

Happy Halloween! 🖤🧡👻

I originally finished this piece in October of 2024, and within a few months I didn't like it anymore. That's kind of the double edged sword of growing as an artist.

It was a huge bummer, like, more than the normal disappointment in outgrowing old art because I worked so hard on it. It took multiple rewrites just to get the text right. Writing in Wesker's douchey voice is kind of hard, especially because he's not consistent from game to game (no Resi character is), so I had to try to pick a tone in the middle so that people will recognize it as him.

And then I was really pushing myself artistically by drawing some things I don't usually (lots of medical equipment), and at the same time I was going through some major overhauls of my art style. I was pretty good at drawing head-on, but this project required me to draw characters from multiple perspectives and angles. As a result, Rebecca turned out really weird-looking in a lot of panels.

So, this year (October 2025!) I re-drew her face in most of them. The changes are pretty subtle. If you've been a fan, you might not even notice! But trust me, it makes a big difference.

Seriously, how come you guys didn't tell me that she looked like a strange alien baby in half of these? 🤭 Just kidding. Appreciate you all for letting me grow in peace.

Original blog post:

I worked sooooo hard on this. I can't even tell you how hard I worked on this. And some parts of it hold up really well, but... I really don't like other parts of it! Maybe that's why it only got a kind of so-so reaction. Sometimes I think about doing a part 2, although it would be tough to keep it up in this captions format.
BTW! You can get just the art work for this one (if you, unlike me, still like the art work ehe) at full resolution if you're a paid supporter! Patreon / Subscribestar / Fanbox

In vitro viral cultures are difficult to travel with. Most governments don't like the idea of incredibly dangerous pathogens moving unchecked into and around their countries. In many ways, transporting cultures in vivo is easier. If you show a TSA agent a brief case full of Petri dishes, he'll want many assurances that you're not some kind of mad scientist; after all, most people have seen TV, and most poorly paid government workers have seen too much TV. What good is a bribe to him if you're a part of a doomsday cult about to unleash biological hell anyway? He might not even have time to spend it.

Ah, but show them an entire girl in a suitcase. Well, that's her problem, and her problem alone. Suddenly the bribe is cheap and no reassurances are necessary. Need any more evidence that humanity deserves to perish?

  1. This resident is extremely evil. Great work.

It's a good thing that Rebecca is barely five feet tall when unfolded. That probably made this scenario more plausible.

    1. LOL Yeah, good thing he's stuffing her in the suitcase and not the other way around, huh? It's definitely stilly fantasy stuff, but I tried to make it seem as real as I could~
